Dr. Michael Akintomide Ajilo, MD, is a visionary leader, accomplished physician, public health professional, and educator whose career spans clinical medicine, healthcare leadership, global research collaboration, and community development. A proud son of Ondo Town, Ondo State, Dr. Ajilo brings over a decade of hands-on professional experience across Nigeria and the United States to his aspiration for legislative service.

Early Life, Education & Leadership Foundation

Dr. Ajilo’s leadership journey began at an early age. Educated at St. Raphael Nursery & Primary School and Independence Grammar School (INDECO), Ondo, he distinguished himself academically and in student leadership, serving as Senior Prefect and Chairman of the Quiz Club, representing Ondo State in national academic competitions including JETS and Cowbell Mathematics, and earning multiple excellence awards. He proceeded to the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degrees. Recognizing the importance of population-level solutions to national challenges, he later obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Delaware, USA.

Dr. Ajilo's professional career reflects depth, breadth, and global relevance.

In Nigeria, he has served as:

  • Medical Doctor — Ondo State Specialist Hospital, managing over 2,000 HIV/HAART patients
  • Medical Doctor — Lifeline Children's Hospital and Reddington Multi-Specialist Hospital, Lagos
  • Medical Lead & Provider Manager — Swift HMO
  • Regional Medical Case Manager — Redcare HMO, overseeing care coordination across multiple Nigerian states, including Abuja, Lagos, Ondo, and the South-South region

In the United States, he has advanced to leadership and specialist roles, including:

  • Senior Clinical Research Professional — involved in Phase I–IV clinical trials
  • Medical Lead — O2 Consulting Services (Delaware), providing strategic medical oversight for complex clinical and data-driven projects
  • Adjunct Faculty (Lecturer) — Wilmington University, teaching Virology, Immunology, and Biology, and mentoring future health professionals
